Poet
The Divine Awakening
In my dreams
I watched you in the reflection
A multitude of reflections
Just the two of us in that dark church.
I, unassuming, invisible, back turned
Did all the watching
Of a reflection of divine beauty
Godly, kingly, magnificent.
I gazed for what felt like hours
At your shrine
A place of devotion
Of worship.
But it was you my eyes
Greedily devoured privately
The only way I could ever watch you
Anonymous glances at heavenly reflections.
The happiest time
I wish it was real
In the midst of that long mundane dream
Appeared a beam of sunlight
In that dark church.
I see you, famous,
All the time on social media.
Heaven, I gazed through reflections instead!
