Poet
Touching Heaven
I touch Heaven
But only when you fleetingly visit,
Albeit rarely now,
In my dreams.
I have never known
Such pure bliss,
To see you living
So close in my dreams.
Like manna from Heaven,
A gift bestowed,
To keep me going
Another day.
The elation withdraws
Quickly as I wake,
As the cold, hard
Cruel reality dawns.
That is the hardest part.
I can see why you don’t
Visit often now.
