Poet
Three Babies in a Bed
(In memory of Gregor Fisher’s mother Kit)
Warm, safe and cosy
Born out of wedlock
But together beloved by a mother
So determined, so strong.
It was the wrong time for you all
Alone, and her heart failing fast
She left those three beloved babies in a bed
To be scattered to the four corners of the wind.
Reunited decades later
Their beautiful mother lives again
In the hearts of her babies united once more.
Rest now, sweet mother dear.
